When did your love of reality television start?

With “Real World: New York.” Absolutely. I think that’s where modern reality TV was born. I was stunned. I found it fascinating. I was a big soap opera fan and I was like, wow, it’s like a soap opera. These people are my age. They live in the city I live in. What’s going to happen?

It struck me how great a format it was. At that time, I was an office assistant at CBS News. And then when “Survivor” appeared, my mind was totally blown away. I was working on the morning show at the time. So we had an agreement where, on the CBS morning show, we got the drops every week. I remember thinking, oh, my God, it regenerates. I thought it was brilliant.

It’s been 15 years since The Real Housewives of Orange County debuted. Do you ever want to launch the idea of doing something like “The Real World Homecoming: New York” – bringing together OG actors?
