Perfectly realized, because both are close to the characters but also able to show sufficient breadth, Ozark benefits from a sharp and inspired pen. Not running after the reversal of the situation at all costs and relying on a postulate that allows him to leave in several directions without being too predictable, the show is forbidden sensationalism but not flashes of violence, which, as was already the case for Breaking Bad, also advance the story and are therefore not based exclusively on a desire to shock or settle on fashionable gimmicks. And this is from the first episode, both rhythmic and exciting. Quickly, we find ourselves unable to let go of the Byrde family and the other protagonists who manage without difficulty to develop their secondary narrative arches at the heart of a remarkably constructed scenario. And it is not the last episode of this first act that encourages us to think otherwise.
