Comedian Dave Chappelle was assaulted by a spectator in Los Angeles
Fear during a show at the Hollywood Bowl, the assailant had a knife
No injuries but a few moments of genuine fear on Tuesday night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, where the famous comedian Dave Chappelle was physically attacked by a spectator during a show.
Some footage posted on Twitter shows the attacker rushing to the stage in the middle of the event, hurling himself at the comedian and making them both fall to the ground. The man then got up and started running around the stage, dodging several people before being stopped.
Law enforcement has identified the assailant as Isaiah Lee, 23, whose boss is now charged with armed assault and is in jail on $30,000 bail. During the search of the suspect, the Los Angeles police discovered that Lee was carrying a fake gun and a knife, fortunately not used in the assault against Chappelle.
